Generally Geolocation is used in the Banking app to help ensure the device is being used within a trusted location area so this might be to stop the app from being used in high risk area’s such as embargoed Countries or countries with a low user rate but high risk of fraud. There are many other reasons to use the geolocation services from a fraud management point of view to build up a Behavioral analysis etc however I do not believe this is currently utilized. It is of course possible to switch of the geolocation options or make them optional depending up on the app requirements. If a Custom banking app is used the Geolocation may be used for customer services such as branch or atm proximity.

If you wish to use geolocation perhaps have some wording that states that the geolocation is used to help enhance fraud prevention.
